The Synthetic Rubber Tape, also popularly called Hot Melt Tape, is made by Biaxial-Oriented Polypropylene film coated with Synthetic Rubber adhesive, and now it is being used for manual packaging and auto machine packaging.
The Hot Melt Tape has a high peeling adhesion and an easy unwinding force than other tapes so it is widely used for carton sealing with auto packaging machines.
Comparing with the Natural Rubber Tapes, the Hot Melt Tape is solvent free and eco-friendly. In the whole production process there is no exhaust emission and wasted water.
Based on the different application purposes, the recipe of the Hot Melt Tape can be adjusted. For example, the recycled cartons, low temperature environment, high humidity, heavy duty packaging, etc, will require different features of the tape so its formula will be adjusted before mass production in order to meet the packaging requirements.
However, the colors of Hot Melt Tape are not as flexible as the Acrylic Tapes. The standard color for the tape is transparent, brown and white while transparent is the most popular one. The other colors such as red, green, blue, yellow are also available but there is MOQ limitation and cost is much higher.

From the comparison we can find out that the Hot Melt Tape has a better performance both under normal condition and critical conditions due to its high peeling adhesion and high shear value. It is good for industrial packaging but not suitable for retail markets due to its shelf life storage temperature resistance.
